With great public transport links only a short walk from the door, you can get into Barnstaple from almost anyone in North Devon. 

The New Inn 

Nestled into the countryside village, the New Inn is the heart of the village, great food and welcoming owners this pub is a great success with both locals and tourists alike. Although small, this charming village pub more than makes up for its size from the classic Devonshire pub interior to the large meal sizes, just be sure to leave room for dessert! Although public transport does not pass through Goodleigh there is parking around the back and many taxi companies that’ll collect from Goodleigh. There are a number of great walks in the area to help you build up an appetite ready for your meal. 

Lush Bar & Restaurant

In the centre of Barnstaple, Lush is a classy bar and restaurant with a sophisticated menu and décor to match. The restaurant has a large capacity to cater for events or busy nights without the place feeling crowded. A wide selection of drink options are available from beers, wines and spirits to a range of cocktails. Barnstaple has good transport links so you can enjoy you meal before getting a bus or taxi home. 

Claytons

A great selection of spirits and cocktails will set you in the right mood for your dining night out at Claytons Glasshouse. The brightly colours exterior is vibrant and inviting just like the staff and music on the inside, whether you're eating or drinking you can enjoy the atmosphere of the main bar. For a more secluded dining experience you’re best to find a quiet table upstairs. An open air balcony makes for a pleasure beer garden when the sun is shining.

Fullams

Fullams has been going since 1993, this Chinese restaurant is blessed with a family run team ensuring the fantastic food is at the forefront of life. The traditional meals and flavoursome food is available for both eat-in and takeaway, you can park in town and easily find Fullams which is a must go if you’re a fan of British Chinese cuisine.

Barnstaples' very own sports bar at the end of the highstreet is a popular place whenever the football is on but is also known for its burgers and loaded fries which are to die for! There’s always a great atmosphere in this bar, the beer garden may be small but gets the lovely mid day when it chooses to shine.
