Set in the centre of the very popular, coastal village of Instow is North Yeo. This lovely 3 bedroom apartment, sleeps 5 people and takes one dog. The apartment is located on Marine Parade which runs along the water-front and beach at Instow and is where all the main pubs, restaurants shops and art galleries are found. In fact North Yeo is literally 100m away from The Instow Arms and The Boat House, two of the best pub/restaurants in the area.
There is a passenger ferry that runs across the estuary to Appledore in the Summer and at very low tides you can even walk across.
The apartment is set on the first floor of a house on Marine Parade with its own private driveway and parking. You enter on the ground floor into a large entrance hall which has loads of room for storing surf boards and bikes, there is even a small lift for taking luggage up to the apartment or for elderly people who don’t fancy the narrow stairs.
The single bedroom is found at the top of the stairs and overlooks the beach, it is also where the lift arrives, it has a full-size single bed and a washbasin, as well as a chest of drawers. The other two bedrooms are to the rear of the apartment, a double and a twin both with washbasins and plenty of storage. The family bathroom is next to the double bedroom and has a bath, washbasin and loo.
The kitchen has been modernised and has fitted cupboards and oak worktops plus a cooker, microwave and fridge-freezer. There is a handy pantry next to the kitchen and the dining room with “gothic” style table and chairs is off the kitchen. The main living room runs along the front of the house and has lovely views over the beach and sea beyond. There is a comfy sofa and chairs and a TV. There is a door that leads out onto a lovely balcony which also overlooks the beach, this has a table and chairs.
The garden is down a few small steps and is nicely sheltered by trees. There is a garage to the front of the house which has a useful tap for washing sandy surfboards and boots.
From Instow it is not far to the wonderful beaches at the North Devon coast, Westward Ho! one way and Saunton Sands in the other, all great surfing beaches.
The Tarka Trail also runs through Instow and can be picked up by the sailing club. You can cycle for miles to Torrington via Bideford or to Braunton via Barnstaple. If fancy getting away from the coast, the wilds of Exmoor are about a 40 minute drive.
