This large, converted school house, sleeps 13 (11 +2), is the perfect holiday destination for a large family or group of friends. The Old School House, the clue is in the name, was once a school and has now been lovingly transformed into a lovely holiday cottage. The house is situated just off the A39 above the cliffs and the charming villages of Lynton and Lynmouth.
As befitting an old school house, the ground floor is mainly set out to open plan living. The living/dining area has a large wood-burner and loads of space to relax, with two large leather sofas and a two seater leather sofa. There is also a TV with Sky and a DVD and video plus a music system, an upright piano, and a table-tennis table can be set up for fun and games.
As you enter this large room, there is a large wooden table and ten chairs. Beyond the dining area is a cosy snug with comfy chairs and a sofa-bed for two extra guests if required.
The kitchen is well equipped with, a fridge, freezer, a dishwasher, a washing machine and dryer, a combination microwave-grill, and an oven with hob. Other equipment includes a toaster, a kettle, a variety of cookware, kitchen utensils, cutlery, crockery and glasses.
Off the kitchen is a lovely terrace, with a large bench for some al fresco dining and great views down the valley.
Beyond the snug are two bedrooms, an en-suite double, with bedside cabinets and reading lamps. There is also a triple bedroom with bunk beds and a single bed, ideal for the kids. The en-suite has a bath and shower, WC and sink. There is an additional downstairs bathroom.
Upstairs there are three more bedrooms, one large bedroom with a four-poster bed, bedside table a lamp, plus a vanity table and mirror. The second double has a double bed, wardrobe and two mirrors one full-length. The third bedroom is a twin bedroom with two full-size single beds, chest-of-draws and bedside table and reading lamps. The third bathroom is on this floor with a bath, overhead shower, WC and sink.
Outside there is a large terrace, with seating and BBQ. There are lovely sloping gardens that lead down to a stream and eventually the village of Brendon with a great local pub, The Staghunters Inn.
