This charming end-of-terrace cottage is a haven of tranquility situated in Hawkcombe, an idyllic and peaceful corner of the village, just a leisurely stroll away from all the local amenities. Immerse yourself in the perfect location for scenic walks, with High Bank positioned at the base of the enchanting wooded combe - Hawkcombe.
Discover the allure of this three-bedroom retreat, featuring a cozy double room, a versatile twin room (convertible to a super-king size on request), and a bunk bed room. The road outside the cottage transforms into a bridleway, leading adventurous souls all the way to Hawkcombe Head atop the moors—an exhilarating challenge for avid hikers. Do note that the steps to the riverside garden are steep, requiring diligent supervision of children.
Upon entering High Bank, a door on the left leads you to a charming dining room adorned with a woodburner stove, a spacious round table for six, and bookshelves flanking the fireplace. The adjacent well-equipped kitchen boasts ample cupboards, a sink, dishwasher, and an electric range cooker with six rings, a grill, and two ovens. A large utility room with a fridge/freezer, washing machine, and a convenient downstairs toilet awaits, providing ample space for cleaning off muddy boots or pampering your furry friends.
Turn right from the front door to find a cozy lounge featuring a second woodburner stove, a TV with a FireTV stick for easy access to streaming services, and bookcases stocked with books and games. The lounge leads seamlessly into a sunlit conservatory, providing a peaceful space to unwind during the day before sliding glass doors open onto the secluded paved patio at the back.
Upstairs, the left path takes you to the front-facing double room with hanging space and drawers, while a modern bathroom with a spa bath, shower, and saniflo toilet awaits next door. Turning right from the stairs reveals a spacious twin room with the option to convert the beds into a super-king size. A shower room with mains toilet, basin, and shower cubicle is nearby, and the third bedroom at the back houses sturdy wooden bunk beds and a small secure courtyard/patio area.
Opposite the cottage, a small road and parking spaces lead to a patio area under a tree, or for more seclusion, follow the gate and steps down to a private garden area beside Hawkcombe stream. Relax with a book and the soothing sounds of the stream, but be cautious—steep steps demand supervision for children. On the opposite side of the stream, a further small paved area, surrounded by shrubs and trees, awaits your enjoyment in the afternoon sun, accessible via a bridle path or, in summer, a careful wade across the stream.
