Poppy Safari tent is just one of six at this popular glamping site situated in East Devon set on a working farm in an idyllic countryside location. There are also two yurts, and three other safari tents on a large 6-acre meadow to provide plenty of space for everyone to relax.

Poppy Safari Tent enjoys a spacious living area complete with wood burning stove, large sofa, dining table and chairs, a double sofa bed, plus a well-equipped kitchen. There is also a compost loo and a hot shower. A covered verandah at the front of the safari tent features plenty of outdoor seating, ideal for relaxing outside with drinks. There are also two bedrooms, which include a double bed and one with two single beds.

A communal barn, with additional showers but also home to fridges, a freezer, a washing machine, a tumble dryer and power sockets that guests are welcome to use free of charge.

Sleeping up to 6 guests, Poppy Safari Tent provides comfortable and spacious accommodation for families with children, friends holidaying together, and couples. Dogs are also welcome at Cuckoo Down Farm (one dog allowed per tent at an additional charge).

Set on a farm, guests at Poppy Safari Tent are invited to roam and wander the surrounding meadows and woodlands. Children can play safe in the stream. The farm animals including ponies, pigs, chickens and the lambs in spring all add to the fun of the farm experience.

For local amenities, there is a local village shop at West Hill, just a mile from the glamping site and the town of Ottery St. Mary has plenty of independent shops, supermarket, restaurants, tea rooms and pubs – everything you could need for a self-catering break.

Within easy reach of Cuckoo Down Farm, there is plenty to do and see to keep everyone entertained. Enjoyable days out include a day at the World Heritage beaches of Sidmouth, exploring the grounds at Bicton Park and a visit to National Trust’s Killerton House.
