Located down a peaceful country lane, Northleigh House is an impressive 19th century period house that comfortably sleeps eight in four bedrooms. This spacious family friendly holiday cottage retains many original period features and is thoughtfully furnished throughout to provide comfortable accommodation for a large group of friends or family. Its peaceful location surrounded by beautiful landscaped gardens and unspoilt countryside views stretching all the way to Hartland is the perfect setting for a relaxing break.
From the private driveway, an elegant entrance hall provides a warm welcome and leads guests to the main living spaces. The lounge is a lovely large room with a dual aspect view, and a huge bay window overlooks the driveway and gardens beyond. Huge comfy sofas and an armchair, along with a flat screen TV with Sky, a Inglenook fireplace with wood-burner provides a relaxing space to gather everyone together in the evenings. There is even a round table and seating, perfect for playing board games together or grabbing a morning coffee.
From the lounge, there is a delightful conservatory with wicker sofas, chairs and a table where you can enjoy watching the birds in the garden or admire the far reaching views towards Hartland on a clear day. A door leads out into the garden.
Back though the living room and across the hallway, there is an elegant dining room, with a huge window and a decorative fireplace. A large period table comfortably seats 8 people for a more formal dining occasion. Alternatively, the table can be used as a snooker or pool table, and then the room becomes a lovely games room.
An open door way with exposed beams leads through to a charming countryside kitchen. It is well-equipped and features an electric oven with an induction hob, coffee machine, dishwasher and microwave. A few steps lead up to a separate breakfast room where there is a decorative Aga, an additional gas hob (with four rings) a large country table with two chairs and benches. Perfect for breakfast or lunch.
There is also a separate utility room accessed from the lounge and has a washing machine, tumble dryer, and sink and access to the rear patio and garden. At the end of the hallway is a ground floor cloakroom.
On the first floor, there are four bedrooms and a family bathroom. The first bedroom has handy zip and link beds so can be made up as either a twin or double bedroom. The second bedroom is a spacious double bedroom with a king-sized bed, a decorative fireplace, built-in storage and countryside views. Then, there is a further twin bedroom with two full size single beds and finally a further double bedroom, with king sized bed. These are all serviced by two bathrooms. The first is at the top of the stairs, which features a bath, walk-in-shower, wash basin and WC, whilst the second bathroom offers a walk-in shower, wash basin and WC.
