Buttercup Yurt is one of the two yurts at Cuckoo Down Farm, where there are also four safari lodges in the same six-acre meadow, but all spaced out from each other. Each of the yurts are 18ft diameter in size and are furnished to a high standard. With a double bed and two double sofa beds, Buttercup Yurt can comfortably accommodate either up to 4 adults or up to six guests for a family with small children. However, a yurt at Cuckoo Down farm is also a fantastic choice for couples, particularly honeymooners.
Buttercup also features a wood burning stove, a separate fully equipped kitchen area, compost loo, standpipe of drinking water, camp fire, plus a starter set for the camp fire/wood burner.
Guests staying at Buttercup Yurt can use the hot showers in the main barn, just a short walk from the camping area. This communal barn also includes fridges, a freezer, a washing machine and tumble dryer all free to use, plus power points, useful for charging phones and tablets.
The village of West Hill has a very well-stocked village shop which is only a mile away from the farm. However, the pretty East Devon town of Ottery St. Mary is only 2.5 miles away and has a good choice of shops, pubs, tearooms and a supermarket.
With ponies, chickens, lambs (in the Spring), acres of meadows, woodlands, stream, the farm itself provides hours of entertainment for all. However, there is a plenty to do and see nearby too. Days at the beach can be enjoyed just a short drive away on the Jurassic coast at Sidmouth, Beer or Branscombe. Fun days out include a visit to Crealy Adventure Park, Escot House or Bicton Park.
