NEW in 2018, Blackberry Safari Tent offers the ultimate luxurious glamping experience, complete with its own private wood-fired hot tub. This lodge also enjoys two bedrooms; one with a double bed and the other with two single beds. The large living area also features a double wooden cabin bed to provide more privacy. Also, within the spacious living area, there is a wood burning stove, sofa, dining table with six chairs, plus a well-equipped kitchen area. Each safari lodge has its own private hot shower and compost loo. At the front, there is a covered verandah complete with an outdoor table, benches and chairs, the perfect spot for dining al-fresco style and enjoy a wonderful Devon sunset.

Each safari tent at Cuckoo Down Farm can comfortably accommodate up to 6 guests. These are ideal for couples, friends and families wishing to holiday together in a truly quiet and relaxing setting on a working farm. There are an additional two yurts and three other safari tents located on the six-acre meadow. There is plenty of space provided between each of the tents to ensure plenty of privacy and space for everyone to relax.

There is also a communal barn with hot showers (mainly for the use of the guests staying at the yurts) but also all guests are welcome to use the fridges, freezer, washing machine, tumble dryer and power sockets provided free of charge.

Cuckoo Down Farm is a working farm and guests are welcome to explore the many acres of meadows, private woodland and enjoy playing in the stream. The farm animals including ponies, pigs, chickens and lambs all add to this wonderful ‘farm experience’.

The local shop at the nearby village of West Hill, only a mile from the glamping site is well-stocked for your self-catering break. However, further shops, a supermarket, restaurants, tea rooms and pubs can be found a short drive away at the nearby pretty town of Ottery St. Mary. A lovely gastro pub, The Golden Lion can be found by the River Otter or fantastic food can be found at  a beautiful Elizabethan manor house at the Combe House Hotel.

For days out, the beaches along the Jurassic coast at Sidmouth, Beer and Branscombe are ideal for cliff walks, and making sandcastles. Other fun days include exploring the stunning grounds at Bicton Park, spotting rare birds on the RSPB’s reserve on the Exe Estuary and the National Trust’s Killerton House is also within easy reach.
